Eating Disorders & Self Harm in the Church
A Free Informational Breakfast for Pastors and Ministers
This is an event for anyone - pastors, para-church ministry leaders, youth leaders and women's ministry leaders - who wants to be more effective in ministry to members of the church and their families who are dealing with eating disorders, self harm and other life-controlling issues.
The areas covered during this informational session will include:
- Understanding Eating Disorders and Self Harm in the Church
- How You can Help: Avoiding Common Mistakes
- Referring for Help
The morning will feature:
Pastors John and Helen Burns: international speakers, authors and founders of the multi-site Relate Church, whose own daughter battled an eating disorder for 10 years
Testimony of a young Christian Woman who has overcome an eating disorder and self harm.
Nicola Bartel, Executive Director of Mercy Ministries, speaking about the root of self harm and eating disorders and ministry to young women who struggle.
